About First YouTube Comment Finder
Ever wondered who wrote the very first comment under a legendary YouTube video or your own classic uploads from years ago? The First YouTube Comment Finder is designed to trace back through time and locate the earliest documented comment on any public YouTube video.
Using server-side YouTube Data API v3 integration with chronological ordering filters, our system paginates backwards through comment threads to pinpoint the exact author, avatar, timestamp, and message. The result is presented in an authentic YouTube comment layout complete with like counts and direct video reference.
Please note that for videos with tens or hundreds of thousands of comments, YouTube's Data API imposes practical pagination boundaries (capped at several hundred comments per request cycle) to protect network integrity. Our tool retrieves the oldest available comment within these API boundaries and caches the result via Upstash Redis.
Questions About First YouTube Comment Finder
How does the First Comment Finder work?
Our server queries YouTube's commentThreads API using chronological ordering ('order=time') and paginates through comment batches to identify the comment with the earliest publication date.
Can this tool find the first comment on videos with millions of views?
For videos with very large comment counts, the YouTube Data API enforces practical pagination limits (capped at up to 500 comments). This tool retrieves the earliest available comment indexed within YouTube API limits.
Why would someone want to find the first comment?
Finding the first comment is popular for internet culture history, creator milestone retrospectives, trivia, and identifying early supporters on viral videos.
Does this tool show deleted comments?
No. YouTube's API only provides comments that are currently active, approved, and publicly visible on the video.
What if comments are disabled on the video?
If the creator turned off comments or set them to private, the YouTube API will return a notice indicating comments are disabled for that video.
Is there any cost to use this tool?
No, the First YouTube Comment Finder on YT Crew is completely free with no signup required.
